As Servants of Christ, we at New Prospect Baptist Church seek to serve the Lord in whatever capacity he calls us to. We believe the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ, the Son of God. To have salvation means to have a personal, living relationship with Jesus, each day asking for the Lord's guidance and working physically, mentally and spiritually to please Him. We believe our faith is exhibited in our public acceptance of Jesus by coming forward for believers baptism at an accountable age. The proof of our faith is seen in how we are living our lives in obedience to the Lord through our work, our social activities, our church attendance and learning of God's word and our reaching out the Father calls us to go to. We welcome people of all walks of life, all races, all genders,all seeking to know the Lord God, Jesus the Christ, the Holy Spirit, the three in one. We believe life here on earth is preparation for the eternal life we will someday have with Jesus in Heaven and that life is full of trials and joys, successes and failures, growth in being the children of God. We "count it all joy".
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"
Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
I John 1:9 "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive of our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness"
Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth"
The 23rd Psalm
The Lord is my Shephard, I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: He leadth me in the paths of righteousness for His name' sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For though art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in in the house of the Lord forever.
